Interesting preceptive from a US general internist. My reaction is .. why is this news? It has been known for a long time. As it normal, every generation thinks it  is different, and every specaily thiks it has discovered that a patients journey can be complex, and active managing a pathway is much much harder than sitting back and waiting.
